On Saturday, the police arrested a 10-member private armed group and seized 25 assorted high-powered guns, hand grenades, rifle grenades and more than 1,400 ammunition for various caliber, following the serving of search warrants at Barangay Poblacion and Barangay Tinalon. The operation resulted to the arrest of Msgt Rodolfo Cabos Ecija (ret.), father of Senator Ninoy Aquino town Mayor Jun Ecija, Sultan Kudarat Province. Authorities are checking if the suspects have links with pro-Islamic State militants which invaded Marawi City and left more than a thousand people dead. Mark Navales
