Aquino's appointee to hear Mamasapano case vs. ex-prexy

Charges of graft and usurpation of authority filed against Former President Noynoy Aquino have been raffled off at the Sandiganbayan on Friday.

The cases went to the anti-graft court's Third Division chaired by Justice Amparo Cabotaje-Tang.

Tang is an appointee of Aquino.

Aquino named Tang justice of the Sandiganbayan in June 2012.

The following year, Aquino again elevated Tang to the post of presiding justice of the anti-graft court.

Tang promises to exercise impartiality in hearing the complaints.

The Ombudsman previously sued Aquino for allowing Former Philippine National Police Chief Alan Purisima to oversee the Mamasapano operations even if the police chief was suspended at that time.
