Duterte to expose Trillanes' assets

PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte vowed Saturday to expose alleged offshore bank accounts of opposition Senator Antonio Trillanes IV worldwide, in his apparent retaliation against the latter for smearing on his reputation.

“I’m coming up with Trillanes’ deposits all over the world. I already got them. Maybe he thought that I can’t do the same to him,” the President said in a speech before Mindanao businessmen Saturday night.

“So I am giving you, in a few days, the number of deposits that he has with Chinese joint accounts. It’s all over—Hong Kong, Australia, America,” he added.

Several social media posts suggested the existence of Trillanes’ alleged offshore accounts and his joint accounts along with a top campaign donor to his campaign kitty in 2016.

The depositor, whose name was covered in the photos, tried to deposit at least $50 to each of the suspected bank accounts—four accounts before the UBS Bank Switzerland (Zurich Branch), Commerz Bank A.G. Bank (Zurich Branch), Deutsche Bank S.A. (Geneve Main Branch), Nova Scotia Bank (Toronto Main Branch), Habib A.G. Bank (Zurich Main Branch), DBS Bank (Alexandra Branch in Singapore) and ANZ Bank (Auckland Main Branch).

Many turned out to be active while two were “returned deposits,” indicating the accounts could either be closed or non-existent.

VERBAL CARNAGE. President Rodrigo Duterte (right) vows Saturday to expose alleged offshore bank accounts of opposition Senator Antonio Trillanes IV worldwide, in his apparent retaliation against the latter for smearing on his reputation, at the same time showing he has an arm tattoo underlining his membership in the Guardians Brotherhood. Trillanes, quick on the draw, said 'Duterte is a liar. I even urge him to show all the details and I will sign a waiver so the truth will come out.'

Duterte said Trillanes kept on “hoisting a lie” against him and, contrary to public perceptions, he “does not have the illusions of the presidency” or “perpetuating (myself) in power.”

Continuing his tirades against Trillanes, Duterte said he would personally fight and challenge him into a gun duel if he tried to humiliate cops and soldiers during a Senate inquiry.

“If he puts you into shame, you should stand up and get up. Tell him, ‘Son of a b—’ Come out and let’s draw [guns]. How boastful. He’s a coward...I myself will fight him in an encounter,” Duterte said in a speech Friday night.

“If I encounter him... Why am I bringing a gun? It doesn’t have a license. You don’t need a license to kill a person,” he added, even showing what appeared to be an unlicensed gun on his side.

Duterte also told the security forces not to let Trillanes talk down on them.

“Do not allow yourselves to be bullied or be shouted at. That’s Trillanes’ style, do not agree with that,” he said.

He even recalled the time when Trillanes questioned the late Defense Secretary Angelo Reyes, who later committed suicide.

“Like Angie Reyes, he said, ‘Your Honor, I would just like to protect my integrity.’ And the brazen creep told Reyes, ‘No, no. Shut up. You do not [have] dignity’” Duterte said, quoting Trillanes.

Under Article 261 of the Revised Penal Code,  any person who shall challenge another, or incite another to give or accept a challenge to a duel, or shall scoff at or decry another publicly for having refused to accept a challenge to fight a duel shall be penalized with a prision correccional in its minimum period.

In a separate media interview, Duterte claimed the former mutineer had more than 200 consultants which were all financed through the questionable Dibursement Acceleration Program, found illegal by the Supreme Court in 2014 for improper use of savings and inter-branch transfer of appropriations.

“We will show it (sic) all, and of course more than 200 consultants under DAP … he spent it all through ‘pamigay.’ He will have to answer also,” Duterte said.

Duterte vowed there would not be any “garbage” in his expose against Trillanes.

“Mine isn’t trash. I’m here at the government, why would I produce one? All I have to do is just get the goods on him,” the President said.

He also laughed off Trillanes’ attempt to link his son to an international drug triad by showing off a rose tattoo on his right shoulder, proving his membership in the Guardians International movement.

Contrary to public perceptions, Duterte said he did  “not have the illusions of the presidency” or “perpetuating (myself) in power.”

“He’s been at it, my son and my family since the elections. The campaign season is over, I thought all the while the campaign fever was just like that but he’s bent on destroying me,” he added.

“I will destroy him or he will destroy me.”

Responding to Duterte’s tirades, Trillanes branded as “fake news” claims he had off shore accounts.

“Duterte is a liar. I even urge him to show all the details and I will sign a waiver so the truth will come out,” the opposition senator said.
