How leading telco welcomed Kris Aquino

It was no ordinary event. Looking from the outside, observers would already think something very big was happening. Everyone was in cocktail attire, and some recognizable faces were arriving at the venue one after another.

“This is just how we’re expecting the event to be – something fit for a queen,” one of the attendees remarked.

A few minutes more the venue was already packed. Women in high heels and men in business attire were shaking hands and exchanging small talks. Then the host for the night, Marc Nelson, took center stage and welcomed everyone who braved the traffic on Edsa and then in BGC just to be part of PLDT and Smart Communications’ big announcement.

“The person everyone is waiting for is here,” he told the crowd and Kris Aquino suddenly emerged from the entrance wearing a striking red gown stealing almost everyone’s attention. And just like her usual self, she immediately made her presence felt by talking to everyone making the event host simply just an embellishment.

“Sorry Marc, now you know why they got me as their endorser.  I am not just a loyal subscriber, I also talk a lot about their service,” she said in jest while telling her story on how she thought she got the new deal as the new celebrity ambassador for the telco.

As the country’s leading residential digital services provider PLDT HOME and leading LTE network Smart welcomed the celebrity host and multi-media personality as their newest brand ambassador, she was also welcomed by the telco’s top endorsers including Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, celebrity moms Camille Pratts and Bettina Carlos, couple Isabel and John Prats, Vic Sotto, and Jericho Rosales, who all attended the “#PLDTSmartCelebrations” event at the Shangri-La at The Fort.

The woman dubbed as Queen of All Media has joined PLDT Home’s growing roster of celebrity brand ambassadors, particularly for its SmartHome suite of products and services.

“I can’t wait to share my own stories about how technology affects the way I raise my children and the way we communicate. I always want the best for my family and being with PLDT is definitely one of those decisions,” Kris shared.

She added that PLDT’s integrated HOME technology is a perfect match for her own lifestyle, as she raises two digitally savvy sons and expands her personal brand into the realm of digital media.

“This is super exciting for me because PLDT is really a big part of our home and our family, so to be officially an ambassador is a huge honor,” she added.

When it comes to allowing her followers an intimate look at her travels, live blogs, and online contents, Kris will rely on Smart.

“Everything now is digital. You know how watching TV has shifted over to binge watching in gadgets? That’s the same pivot I see for my digital needs. With Smart’s reliable LTE speed, I know that reaching a broader audience, particularly the millennials, is now a lot easier.”

Kris hosts and produces several online video series on her official Facebook page including Wear Kris for fashion tips, The Kris List for her personal list of new experiences and conversations with people, Heart to Heart with Kris for a glimpse into her daily activities and adventures, and Kris Travels for fans who want to virtually join her as she travels the world with her loved ones.

“We’re honored to have Kris as part of the PLDT family. I am confident that, together, we can really empower and inspire more Filipino families to build the strongest connections at home through world-class internet and technology,” PLDT-Smar FVP and Head of Consumer Business for Market Development Oscar A. Reyes, Jr. said.
