44 bets join PBA Draft

A TOTAL of 44 hopefuls enlisted themselves in the upcoming Philippine Basketball Association Draft.

In the official list provided by the league after last week’s deadline of application, there will be a handful of notable aspirants looking to break into the big league.

Amateur standouts Christian Standhardinger, Kiefer Ravena and Jeron Teng are the most highly-touted names in the initial list.

Quality players like Filipino-Americans Davon Potts and Jason Perkins, national team member Raymar Jose and Rey Nambatac are also expected to make noise.

Notably missing from this year’s class are Bobby Ray Parks Jr. and Robert Bolick, two prolific do-it-all cagers, who chose to focus first on their amateur careers.

The last player to submit an application was Louie Vigil, an intriguing prospect from the University of Santo Tomas.

The 2017 PBA Draft is set on Oct. 29 at the Robinson’s Place Manila.

The league will conduct draft combines to give the scouts a better chance of seeing the capabilities of the applicants.

From there, the league will also filter the number of aspirants and see who among the list will be eligible for the draft.
