Nlex revs up expansion in Fernando interchange
The NLEX Corporation is currently building additional roadways and expanding the capacity of the San Fernando City interchange.
It will build two completely new bridges to be used as a separate carriageway in order to ease mounting traffic in the area – and to match the accelerating growth of trade and commerce in this capital city of Pampanga. Within sight at the interchange alone are two of the biggest malls of major supermall builders. Also part of the project is the conversion of the east and west rotundas into signalized intersections. Project completion is set for July.
“We are building these P223.5 million-peso enhancement in our road infrastructure to match the fast-paced growth of San Fernando City,” said NLEX Corporation president Rodrigo E. Franco, adding that it will result in greater travel convenience for businesses in the City and nearby areas. Aside from the NLEX San Fernando City Interchange capacity expansion, the tollway company has also completed other projects in the region recently --- the 64-lane kilometer expressway from Sta. Rita, Guiguinto, Bulacan to San Fernando City and from Dau to Sta. Ines in Mabalacat City.
